Dr. Jennifer Laidlaw

Jennifer Laidlaw earned her MD from the University of British Columbia before doing her residency in psychiatry. She was involved in medical training during her residency. She has presented and published at international conferences on topics such as delirium screening, social media and professionalism. She spent the beginning of her career as the head of Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she focused on creating a vibrant and highly collaborative CL service that provides psychiatric care to patients in the surgical and medical wards as well as the oncology and palliative care units. She was also awarded an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for managing vulnerable patients at the hospital.

She is also the provincial practice Director for Psychiatry within BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC and the Past-President of the BC Psychiatric Association. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Tufts University School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty participant in the UM PM&R and Family Medicine residency programs. She has an interest for a long time in research and education related to musculoskeletal disorders. She is currently teaching Neuromuscular and musculoskeletal medicine to Family Medicine residents and has ongoing research projects in musculoskeletal education, electrodiagnostic medicine, and performing arts medicine.

Dr. Pulkit Singh completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales prior to completing her Psychiatry residency at the University of British Columbia. She received the Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Psychotherapy Award during her training to recognize her accomplishments in these fields. She has worked in many areas of Psychiatry and is particularly interested in Psycho-oncology, Addiction Psychiatry, Cardiac Psychiatry and General Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.

Dr. Nadeesha is a psychiatrist who treats patients with BC Cancer. She has a special interest in Psychooncology, and enjoys working with people who are older. She has a long-standing interest in geriatric psychiatry, and has been an expert consultant at the Geriatric Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service (GPCLS) and the ECT Service at Vancouver General Hospital. Dr. Theresa Lo

Dr Theresa Lo is a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where she completed her medical school and residency in psychiatry. She has worked for the BC Cancer Agency and Surrey Mental Health. She has a clinical practice that includes dialectical behaviour therapy and psychodynamic psychology. She is fluently able to speak Cantonese.

Dr Karim trained at Guy’s King’s St Thomas’ and St George’s hospitals in London and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr. Richford began her career as an RN, and later she pursued a doctorate at Dalhousie. She earned her MD in 1996. She is currently a staff psychiatrist at Providence Health Care, Vancouver General Hospital and BC Cancer – Vancouver, as also a Clinical Associate Professor at UBC.
